Welcome to the Employee Spotlight! Every month we focus on a ProMax team member- what they do here to help your dealership succeed AND a little about them personally as well. This month the spotlight is on ProLease Operations Manager Pam Schroeder.
Describe what you do at ProMax and how it impacts our clients.
I manage the ProLease Data Entry team that puts the financial data into the ProMax dealerships' systems to calculate leases and captive retail payments for customers. It’s very important that the dealerships receive accurate financial data to help them provide payments and customer service to sell vehicles. I strive to provide the highest level of customer service to the dealerships.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The challenges it presents to me, leading and being part of the Data Entry team, meeting deadlines and goals, collaboration with everyone, customer service and helping the dealers and co-workers, being part of the ProMax family.
What do you enjoy doing most outside of work?
Riding our side-by-side Polaris Razor at adventure RV parks, camping, and traveling.
What is your favorite line from a movie?
I have three that I say: "Grace? She passed away thirty years ago" (Aunt Bethany), “You couldn’t hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant” (Uncle Lewis), and “We’re gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas” (Clark Griswold)... Can you tell I watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation a lot?!
If you could learn to do anything new, what would it be?
I would like to get my Professional NHRA Pro Stock driving license and drive a Pro Stock car like 4-time champion Erica Enders. Also I’d like to get my pilot's license to fly hot air balloons and one day own one.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe working at ProMax?
Challenging, rewarding, and interesting.
Who would play you in a movie about your life, and what would the title of the movie be?
Actress Nancy Travis from Last Man Standing and the movie title would be "Are You Flipping KIDDING Me?"
At what age did you become an adult, and how did you know it happened?
It hasn’t happened yet for the most part, LOL.
What 3 traits define you?
I have 4 actually: analytical, loyal, honest, and independent.
What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
Spend more time with my parents since I lost both in my 20s, don’t worry about the little things, always do your best.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
I grew up on a farm where I had to learn to drive a tractor at the age of 6. I had to help my dad with the hogs and cattle chores – learn to clean out hog pens and barns of cattle. Plus I had to help with the planting crops and harvesting. To this day I miss doing that especially at harvest time. Another one- I got to be a passenger in a friend's Super Street Drag Car going 128 mph in 7.90 seconds in a quarter mile. I love the need for speed!
What advice would you give to recent new hires?
Ask questions, take notes, communicate, stay positive, be a team player, have fun and laugh every day, and my door is always open if you need help.
What does true leadership mean to you?
It’s a person you can look up to and who provides direction, guidance, courage, confidence, ambition, passion, and builds teams committed to achieving common company goals.
What inspires you?
My inspiration comes from providing wonderful service to every customer I talk to. I feel inspired by leading the data entry team and helping each of them grow, and to create goals that we can all accomplish together. I really like when people have enthusiasm about their job, family, and a zest for life.
If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?
Telepathy... I would love to know what people are thinking and going to say or do.
What are you looking forward to most this year?
I’d have to say a vacation to Oklahoma for the Rock Bouncing finals. One of the holidays we are going to TN. Plus spend time with our two sons and doing a lot of riding our side-by-side Razor.
