First off, I want to thank everybody who participated in our #WhyProMax contest. We've worked with many of you for so long that you feel like part of the family, and it was great to hear your comments and so gratifying to see the impact your thoughts had on our team.
It was a year filled with challenges unlike anything we’ve ever seen. There were times when a team member was virtually in tears because they just talked with an Owner or GM friend that had to lay off staff, and they weren’t sure if they were going to make it. Unfortunately we had to do some layoffs in April as well, including some people who had been here a long time. Fortunately we all bounced back to varying degrees together, and now we can take a moment to reflect on what we learned, and how we apply that to the year ahead. And your comments were invaluable to us.
Every day for the last couple of months we’ve continued to see your posts or emails letting us know why you appreciate us. Plenty of you mentioned specific things you like about the platform we’ve been building for 25 years. It’s fast, easy, awesome desking etc. But the majority pointed specifically to the team. The people. And it had an incredible impact on everyone. I see it in their faces and feel it in their replies.
When you see your customers saying things like "Call them anytime for any kind of help, they answer the phone and begin solving your problems now!" or "easily the best support team in the automotive industry" it just puts a smile on our faces, and a little pep in our step. That is exactly why we do what we do! There is a book called ‘Start With Why?’- not what or how you are going to do something, but why. Because of your appreciation, that’s our why, that’s our fuel.
Thank you, all of you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for letting the team know how much you appreciate them. They passionately want to do the best for you, so that means a lot. And as every good leader knows, when people feel appreciated they show you exactly why they are worthy of it. Unless you have the wrong people, in that case you just hope they go work for the competition!
Now some of you don’t really care about that other stuff you just want to know who won so I’ll get to that now. However I also want to let you know that even if you don’t win this time, we are going to do this every quarter in 2021 and you’ve already got a ticket in for more chances. The good kind, like the golden ticket type, not the ‘yeah we’ve got a ticket on that’ kinda ticket!
