At ProMax, we are always working to make our systems more secure. In recent months we have greatly increased security by strengthening our user password standards. In our next update scheduled for 2/17, two more important changes will take effect:
- Case sensitivity will now be enforced on all passwords
What does this mean? It means that passwords created with capital letters must always be entered with those letters capitalized. If your password was entered as "ProMax135", it will no longer be sufficient to type "promax135". Uppercase letters must be uppercase, and lowercase letters must be lowercase. - Newly created passwords cannot match any other user's password at your dealership
This will not affect passwords currently in use until the next scheduled time you are prompted to change them. It will affect all new passwords created from this point forward.
We appreciate the highly sensitive nature of the data your dealership collects on prospects and customers, and we are making every effort to protect you. With high profile data breaches at major U.S. companies frequently in the news, it has never been more crucial to limit the exposure created by weak passwords.
ProMax Support is unable to view passwords or update users' passwords. For assistance with this, please contact the ProMax administrator at your dealership.
If you have other questions regarding these password changes and how they may affect your dealership, please contact your Account Rep.
